Wine Review: This slightly opaque, almost black colored Cab based blend finished in third place in our big blind tasting of High End Red. This wine opens with a mild blackberry bouquet with hints of vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very well balanced, creamy, and smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle plum and mild black currant with notes of integrated dark chocolate. The finish is very dry and its dusty tannins are well managed and show nice length. The panel suggested pairing this gem with a ribeye steak or Memphis dry rub ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The darkly pigmented 2007 Insignia is a perfect example of the amazing color this vintage produced. Rich aromatics of mineral, baking spices, dark chocolate, graphite, and opulent plum and blackberry lead to the concentrated and balanced mouthfeel. Silky, well structured tannins, core black fruit and sweet oak notes from our estate vineyards create length and weight that will allow this beautiful wine to age, as well as remain approachable in. its youth
