Wine Review: This translucent and bright red colored Pinot from Mendocine opens with a fragrant strawberry and Dr. Pepper like bouquet with a hint of black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and easy going. The flavor profile is an oak infused plum with notes of black currant. I also detected some spice and black pepper as well. The finish is dry and its mild oak tannins linger slightly. This wine is food friendly and would pair well with wild boar ragu Bolognese served over pappardelle. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Pinot Noir offers a spectrum of flavors, including black cherry, blueberry, lavender, and vanilla. The palate follows through with cherry, pomegranate, cola, and a long chocolate finish. It works especially well with food but is soft enough to drink on its own.
