Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Merlot opens with a stewed plum and new leather bouquet with a hint of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and balanced. The flavor profile is a mineral infused plum with a hint of dried cranberry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are lingering slightly. The panel suggested that this Merlot would pair well with grilled pork chops or meatloaf. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of violets, dark plum and black spice are followed by a fleshy palate of fresh plum and black raspberry flavors, woven with black tea, licorice and truffle. Elegant tannins add weight and a polished texture and lead to a bright, lush finish. Delicious upon release, this Merlot will benefit from five years of cellaring from vintage and continue to age gracefully for at least ten years.
