Wine Review: This garnet colored Zinfandel from Grgich opens with a fragrant boysenberry bouquet with a hint of leather and vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, mellow, and approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty and gentle blackberry with a hint of plum and black raspberry. The finish is dry and its medium tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel suggested pairing this very nice Zin with slow cooked beef brisket or cioppino. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Grown at our estate vineyard in Calistoga, our Zinfandel grapes are certified organic and Biodynamic. The vineyard’s gravelly loam provide excellent drainage and the cloudless days and cool nighttime temperatures are perfect for sun-loving Zinfandel. Pure flavors of strawberries, raspberries and a hint of dried sage make this wine the perfect match for grilled steak, smoked brisket and pasta or pizza topped with tomato sauce.
