Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Goldeneye is very good. It opens with an inviting black cherry and cola bouquet with hints of dark chocolate and licorice. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium acidity. It is also balanced and quite juicy. The tasty flavor profile is similar to the nose. It features ripe black cherry and cola along with notes of anise and black pepper. I also detected hints of sautéed mushrooms, black raspberry, and cedar mixed in. The finish displays moderate sticky tannins and its flavors linger and last for a while. I would decant this Pinot in the near term, as it smoothes out nicely. Then pair it with Venetian duck ragu with pappardelle or with a mushroom risotto. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: A classic expression of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir, this wine begins with enticing aromas of bright cranberry, strawberry, blueberry, and blackberry, as well as savory hints of black tea, dried herbs, pennyroyal, and saddle leather. The lush fruit notes are echoed on the flavorful palate, where they mingle with layers of moist earth and wild mushrooms, with firm tannins and bright acidity carrying the wine to a poised and polished finish.
