Wine Review: This almost clear colored Sparkler from Carneros opens with an appealing Granny Smith apple, Anjou pear and wet stone bouquet with a hint of wild rose. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, and brisk. The flavor profile is a mineral infused mild lemon with hints of caramel, tangerine and almond. The finish is dry and its acidity and flavors last for quite some time. The panel suggested pairing this very nice sparkler with Coquille St. Jacques or grilled tuna. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The wine opens with green apple, citrus and honey on the nose. This continues into the mouth adding black cherry and brioche with Asian pear. The mouse is fine textured and creamy. Light mineral character and Meyer lemon continue into a long crisp finish. This wine pairs beautifully with a wide variety of appetizers ranging from toasted almonds and marinated olives to fried calamari or seared scallops. Enjoy it with Brie or aged Gouda cheese, steamed mussels and delicate cream based fish and chicken entrees
