Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Pinot Noir opens with a musty oak and mild black cherry bouquet with a hint of coffee. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very well balanced, and smooth as silk. The flavor profile is a fruit forward and tasty black cherry with a touch of red raspberry and spice. The finish is dry and its refined moderate tannins are gentle, yet linger. This elegant Pinot is a pleasure to drink and would be perfect with grilled salmon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Sexton Pinot Noir is wonderfully intricate: notes of wild blackberry, dried mushroom, mulberry bush with braised plum, cinnamon stick and sour cherry. Its focused and fine tannins are assisted by judicious Burgundian oak treatment. The coolest slopes of Sexton vineyard are planted with five Pinot Noir clones from Burgundy, New Zealand and Australia, managed according to biodynamic principles, providing us with various expressive threads to weave into the final blend.
