Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Cabernet from Franciscan opens with a mild black currant bouquet with a hint of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and easy going. The flavor profile is a tasty mild oak infused black currant with a touch of black raspberry. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are slightly prolonged. This wine is food friendly and would pair well with beef stroganoff. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep garnet. A luscious cascade of dark fruit aromas, including black currant, black cherry, plum, and blackberry complemented by sweet vanilla and baking spices. Rich, round, and full-bodied; layered with blackberry, cherry, dried plums flavors and a hint of cocoa; generous weight on the palate and smooth, mouth-filling tannins; the finish lingers with flavors of rich cassis and black cherry.
