Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Syrah is on the light side and will appeal to Pinot and Sangiovese lovers. It opens with a smoky black currant and black licorice bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a slightly sour black cherry with notes of smoke, mild red currant, and spice. The finish is dry and its mild tannins linger slightly. Pair this wine with a pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The Los Alamos Vineyard lies in the chilly hills of Cat Canyon. Low yield cool climate Syrah offers mid palate spice and pepper rather than the big finish of warmer climate Syrahs. Spice, white pepper and strawberry on the nose. Big fruit on the mouth. White pepper, saddle leather and all the funk that makes pairing with lamb easy. Sexy oak to finish--Legs, legs & legs!!!
