Wine Review: This dark pink colored Rose from Ehlers is very good. It is made from Cabernet Franc, which is quickly becoming my favorite Rose grape this year. It opens with an attractive faint strawberry and mild Dr. Pepper bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, mouthwatering and elegant. The flavor profile is a tasty and gentle mild mineral infused watermelon with notes of strawberry. The finish is dry and its flavors and well managed acidity linger for quite some time. This Rose is food friendly and would be perfect with Emeril's grilled salmon with a pineapple, mango and strawberry salsa. Enjoy Ken
Winemaker Notes: We call this elegant pink wine Sylviane in honor of our elegant founder, Madame Sylviane Leducq. Aromas of watermelon, raspberry and cotton candy mingle with orange sorbet and fresh red cherries. On the palate, the wine is crisp and dry with a sparkling acidity, low alcohol and a lingering lemon-berry finish. Not red, not white, but a classic old-world rose, ready for summertime.
