Wine Review: This wine is for real Port fans. It opaque and very dark ruby colored. It opens with a fragrant black currant and raisin bouquet with a fair amount of alcohol sensed as well. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, rather ripe, and slightly sweet. The flavor profile is a rum cake and blackberry blend with notes of raisin, black pepper, and black raspberry. The finish is semi-sweet and its powerful fruit flavors linger well after the wine is gone. This Port has 19% alcohol and it is definitely noticeable. But not over the top. I would pair this Port with pecan pie or chocolate covered strawberries. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Intense aromas of prunes, molasses, roasted walnuts and maple syrup fill the nose. The nutty characters glide across the palate with essence of plums and espresso while the spiciness of dry earth, cedar, and cinnamon linger on the palate for an extended finish. Serve with chocolates and dark fruits by the fireplace. Will age nicely for 15 years.
