Wine Review: This excellent red blend from Dylan’s Ghost is rather impressive. It is India ink colored and opaque. It opens with blackberry and mild prune bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, smooth as silk, rich, yet elegant. The flavor profile is a concentrated black currant and blackberry blend with notes of black pepper and mild black licorice. This has a Napa cult wine feel and taste at half the price of its peers. It is a steal. This finish is dry and fine tannins build-up and last for a really long time after the wine is gone. This wine is perfect for a thick cut ribeye and will not last long. Order two bottles with friends and enjoy a fantastic dinner. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This limited 500 case production showcases the terroir of the Stags Leap District and is inspired by both the right bank of Bordeaux and the Anciene Cuvee approach of winemaking in the Haut Medoc. This SLD field blend is ripe, deep and complex. Tasting Notes by Aaron Pott Winemaker: Blackberry, cherry, cocoa, coffee, smoked meat, nutmeg, full rich attack, Cherry, chocolate, blackberry, massive juicy mid-palate, very soft finish with lovely supple tannins. Sourced from an estate vineyard, all organically farmed.
