Wine Review: This almost clear colored Mosel region Riesling opens with a mild pear and gentle pineapple bouquet with a hint of honey and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, citrusy, and vibrant. The panel liked the way the flavors changed and it exploded in their mouth. Those flavors were ripe limeade with hints of pineapple and honey along with some mild mineral notes in the end. The finish is semi-sweet and its flavors linger nicely. The panel suggested pairing this very good Riesling with coconut shrimp or broiled scallops. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Due to its individual slatestone notes it is straight ahead and complex at the same time. The smell reminds to citrus-fruit and pieplant. The taste is well balanced in natural sweetness and acidity. The finish is acidity driven and makes this Riesling easy to drink. The Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett is a perfect match for spicy asian cuisine. Try it with wok-fried rice and vegetables.
