Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Riesling was a big hit with our tasting group. It opens with a mild apricot and cold tea like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and nicely balanced between its sweetness and acidity. The flavor profile is ripe green apple with hints of apricot, mineral notes, and honey on the back palate. The finish is semi-dry and enjoyable. The group thought this gem would pair well with chicken lo-mien. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Spatlese from the Bernkastel Badstube is harvested about 3 weeks after the Riesling Kabinett. Therefore it shows much more concentration of ripe fruit such as ripe apricot, combined with ripe peach aromas. Food affinities: ideal with very spicy foods, such as Thai or even Indian style dishes.
