Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Riesling opens with a very mild apple and apricot bouquet with a hint of honey. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and shows some prominent acidity. The flavor profile is sweet orange and pineapple with a hint of apricot and peach. The finish is semi dry and brief. The panel suggested pairing this with a grilled Angus burger with blue cheese or strawberry cheesecake. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The Erdener Treppchen (pronounced AIR-din-er TREP-shen)vineyard is so steep that long ago stone steps were built into the hillside to enable workers to reach the vines. The iron rich, red slate soil produces wines that are muscular and complex, with an intense minerally finish. An elegant, yet muscular, aperitif wine, this is also an excellent partner for lighter seafood and poultry dishes that emphasize fresh ingredients.
