Wine Review: This light yellow colored Finger Lakes Reserve Gewurztraminer opens with mild lychee bouquet with a hint of apricot. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, crisp and has touch of ripe fruit sweetness. The flavor profile is a ripe lychee with hints of apricot and a touch of minerality and pineapple. The finish is semi-dry is and its fruit flavors linger well after the wine is gone. This wine is pleasant and would pair well with ham. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This '09 Gewurztraminer Reserve is a spectacular example of a complex, fruity and minerally wine unique to our Finger Lakes terrior. Rich flavors preceded by a nose of spiced fruit and potpourri. Flavors of pomegranate, lychee and honey with a surprising finish of pepper and fruit. Serve with honey glazed ham, tempura chicken and rich desserts of pumpkin cheesecake, apple strudel or baklava.
