Wine Review: This wine came in second place in our first blind flight of Rieslings. It personally was my favorite. It is white gold colored and opens with an attractive peach bouquet with a hint of orange. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, gentle, and sophisticated. The flavor profile is a very tasty lemon iced tea with notes of tangerine, green apple, and just a hint of honey. The finish is semi dry and its tangerine flavors hang on and linger nicely. Panel suggested pairing this Riesling with your Thanksgiving turkey. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Kabinett is still a bit closed on the nose (Dec. 2009). As soon as it does open up, a variety of aromas is almost overwhelming. It is underlined by a lively acidity and minerality so typical of the Doctor vineyard site. It is an extremely complex wine with a tremendous aging potential. Great with lobster, scallops and other seafood.
