Wine Review: This garnet red colored Oregon Pinot Noir from Dion is very good. It was a pleasant discovery at this year’s WBC. It opens with a mild strawberry bouquet with a hint of old oak and blue raspberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth and approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty black plum with hints of black pepper and mild old oak. The finish is dry and its tingly acidity and gentle tannins linger for quite some time. This Pinot would pair well with thyme seasoned pork tenderloin. Hurry, there is not much of it. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2009 Reserve Pinot greets you with a toasty vanilla spice and minerality on the nose, but reveals a lovely balance of fruit – pomegranate and cherries, anise, toasted oak, pleasant acids and a firm but smooth finish. 100% Dijon clones and 50% new oak.
