Wine Review: This cloudy and deep ruby colored Merlot and Cab Franc based blend from Davis Estates is Excellent! It opens with a very inviting blueberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of molasses, nutmeg, and clove. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, fresh, smooth, and luscious. The flavor profile is a very tasty red plum and black cherry blend notes vanilla-cola and oak. We also detected hints of red licorice and chalky minerality. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins stick around for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would pair this very impressive red blend with a New York strip steak or with Roy’s rib roast. Enjoy – KWGTP
