Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot from Darioush shows off the gentle side of Pinot. It opens with a fragrant cherry bouquet with hints of vanilla oak and tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is black cherry with hints of plum and vanilla oak. The finish is dry and elegant. The panel suggested that this very food friendly Pinot would be perfect with grilled salmon. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Blessed with fragrant aromas of rose petal, cinnamon and lavender, 2009 Signature Pinot Noir shows a dynamic range continuing with bright strawberry, rhubarb and sweet blueberry flavors. Rather firm and statuesque in comparison to previous vintages, the wines concentration and ripe tannins suggest longevity, while subtle earthy undertones of tobacco, wet stone and incense come through in the prolonged finish.
