Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored wine opens with a mild black currant bouquet with a hint of eucalyptus and mild oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is an extracted black cherry with notes of anise, cassis, and black pepper. The finish is dry and its soft tannins are dusty and show nice length. The panel felt this wine evolved quite a bit in the glass and got even better with some swirled in air. They suggested decanting it and serving it with a filet mignon or lamb chops with a balsamic reduction sauce. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: A rich, generous and complex vintage offering aromas of European dark chocolate, blackberry, espresso and graphite framed by succulent, fully-developed tannins and a sleek, old-world, mineral-driven structure. This age-worthy wine possesses Darioush’s ‘Signature’ combination of concentration, refinement and finesse, resulting in vivid, lingering flavors of black licorice, cassis and mocha, complimented by a savory finish of lavender, cigar box and toasted hazelnut.
