Wine Review: This slightly opaque dark ruby colored Cab opens with a black currant and black raspberry bouquet with hints of earthy oak and coffee. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth, gentle, and nicely balanced. The flavor profile is an easy going black currant with a touch of black raspberry, blackberry, and menthol. The finish is dry and its refined tannins show grace and decent length. This wine would pair well with a filet mignon with grilled asparagus and potatoes au gratin in the near term. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The D.R Stephens DR II Cabernet Sauvignon shows fresh and lively aromas of bright cherry, vanilla, and raspberry. At entry, the juicy fresh cherry flavors give the wine a friendly approachability, while slightly darker tea and black raspberry notes add structure and depth to the palate impression.
