Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Merlot from Washington State was the best value we found in our big blind tasting. It only costs $15! It opens with a mild black cherry bouquet with a touch of black raspberry and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry and plum blend with notes of pleasant vanilla oak. The finish is dry and its well managed moderate tannins are food friendly. The panel suggested pairing this Merlot with either veal marsala or cherry amaretto chicken with mashed potatoes. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: "The H3 Merlot entices the nose with spicy blackberry aromas and then explodes across the palate with slight dusty, earthy, and rich berry notes which cumulate in the seductive, velvety, cocoa finish." -Ray Einberger, Winemaker
