Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Merlot from Sonoma opens with fragrant blackberry jam bouquet with hints of black currant and black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a ripe blackberry and boysenberry blend with hints of mild black licorice and gentle oak. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins and flavors are sticky and linger for quite some time. This wine would pair well with barbecue steak tips. Enjoy - Ken
