Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple Merlot from Charles Krug is Very Good right now and show potential to get better in the next couple of years. It opens with a ripe blackberry bouquet with a hint of blueberry and oak. The flavor profile is a juicy blackberry and dark chocolate blend with notes of oak and a hint of black cherry towards the end. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are very approachable. This wine would be perfect with beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our Peter Mondavi Family Merlot plays off aromas of chocolate covered cherries, raspberry and orange peel while flavors unite with ripe red fruit and a hint of mineral notes. Soft integrated oak provides a balanced, lingering finish for this luscious wine.
