Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Sauvignon Blanc from Chalk Hill finished in second place in our big blind tasting. It opens with a honey and bees wax bouquet with a hint of lime. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and round. The flavor profile is a mild lemon with hints of green apple and cream soda. We also detected hints of white pepper and vanilla oak. The finish is dry and pleasantly refreshing. The panel suggested pairing this with Coquilles St. Jacques. Also, this wine did improve even more with some aeration and was even better leftover on day two. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 2009 Sauvignon Blanc captures the character of the variety, the complexity of our site and the coolness of the vintage. The nose offers peach, mango, Butterscotch Melon and lemon. The flavors add mango, passion fruit, and Musque to the mix. While this Sauvignon Blanc is ripe and powerful, it also possesses the ample structure and acidity to age.
