Wine Review: Carol has done it again. She has made another Excellent Petite Sirah. This very dark ruby colored wine was also slightly opaque. It opens with a fragrant and attractive blackberry bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied very nicely balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a delicious spicy ripe blackberry with notes of blueberry and mild black currant. We also detected a hint of oak in the background. The finish is rather dry and its moderate tannins drift away nicely. Even better is that I found this wine gets better over the several days I had it open. We would pair this gem with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Inky blue-purple in color, lively black peppery spice on deep blue-blackberry fruit. Cedary oak spice, very dark chocolate, bit of warm vanilla at finish, structured tannins for aging.
