Wine Review: This dark ruby and slightly opaque Zinfandel from Carol Shelton opens with an attractive black cherry bouquet with hints of blueberry and vanilla. It really draws you in. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, fruit forward, and rich. The flavor profile is a ripe boysenberry and black currant blend. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. This is a Very Good Zin to just drink on its own. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep blackberry fruit and big spice plus black pepper, a touch of chocolate and cola in the oak contribution. Richly textured in mouth, good structure for aging, long black fruit finish.
