Wine Review: This dark red colored Tempranillo based wine from Carlos Serres is a very good value. It reminds me of a Chianti Classico. It opens with a black cherry and pomegranate bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty cedar influenced mild tart cherry with a hint of plum. The finish is dry and its flavors and gentle mild tannins linger nicely. This wine is made for food. I would pair it with a charcuterie platter. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine is bright red and garnet colored with a rim turning to brick showing its extended aging in barrel and bottle. It displays a complex and elegant aroma of mature ripe black fruits, vanilla and cinnamon spice. It is extremely velvety smooth and harmonious with a fresh finish. A savory and medium-bodied Spanish red, that pairs well with traditional foods like seafood and sausage paella with saffron rice.
