Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot from Oregon opens with a mild black raspberry bouquet with hints of strawberry, plum and leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and rather smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty plum and blackberry blend. The finish is dry, a little hot, and its fine tannins drift away nicely. The panel suggested that this very food friendly Pinot would pair well with wiener schnitzel or spinach ravioli's. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 vintage is the sort of year winemakers live for. Full flavor and tannin balance meld with wonderful acidity to yield a complex cuvee that will show its best after several years in the cellar. At this point the dark plum of the Pommard Block is dominant, along with earth and dark berry fruit from the Dijon 114. The structure and bright red fruit of the Dijon 115 is held in check by the elegance of the Dijon 113. Some minerality on the finish is something unique to 2008. Each block indeed plays its part in this blend.
