Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Riesling displays many tiny bubbles in the glass once poured. It opens with a mild tangerine and wet stone bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied and displays plenty of sweet and ripe fruit along with a decent amount of off-setting acidity. The flavors are a very ripe Bosc pear with nicely integrated minerality. I also detected clementine and touch of lime as well. The finish is dry and subtly drifts away. This wine would pair well with Peking dumplings. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The very steep Apotheke vineyard, across the Mosel from the estate house, is Stefan's best site in Trittenheim. "Apotheke" translates to "pharmacy", and its medicinal power is perhaps more than a myth. Stefan Bollig's wines are stylish and crisp with a fine fruity elegance and good mineral content. The fine structure of ripe acidity gives his wines plenty of maturing potential.
