Wine Review: This entry level Pinot Noir grew on me. It is dark red colored and opens with an earthy black cherry bouquet with a touch of menthol, light pepper and heat. On the palate, this wine is light bodied and round. Its flavor profile starts out as a slightly tart black cherry with some oak influenced strawberry and light black pepper mixed in. It melds together nicely with a little air. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are nicely prolonged. I would pair this good value Pinot with lasagna or an Angus burger with mushrooms and cheddar. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Cherry aromas are layered in this deeply-colored Pinot Noir, and secondary notes of mint and forest floor can be found in the nose as well. Fresh red currant flavors are concentrated on the palate, and well-balanced by a nice earthiness and mild spice reminiscent of coriander and sandalwood. Full-bodied for a Pinot Noir but matched with a mouthwatering acidity, this style of red wine is unusually versatile. Velvety tannins stretch out the long finish with a trace of red ripe fruit as the final flavors linger.
