Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chard is a classic California styled wine. It opens with a very fragrant lemon, spice, and vanilla oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty Clementine, with notes of banana, butter, and mild light toasted oak. The finish is dry and drifts away rather nicely. This Chard shows very nice finesse and was pretty popular with the mini tasting group. I would pair it with Chicken St. Timothy. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Chardonnay exhibits classic aromas of apple and pear along with honey and graham. Malolactic fermentation and battonage, the stirring of the lees, introduces a yeasty, leasy charactristic to the wine. Intense citrus flavors fill your mouth followed by a subtle toasty vanilla and ground spice flavor from the barrel aging. The wine finishes with a long, rich and lush finish.
