Wine Review: This cherry red colored Pinot opens with a mild strawberry bouquet with a hint of cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, fruit forward and smooth. The flavor profile is an enjoyable strawberry with hints of mild raspberry and gentle plum. There is just a hint of oak in the background. The finish is dry and its fine tannins are friendly. This Pinot is not overly complex. But it is so quaffable and tasty that a second glass is a must. Pair this wine with fresh smoked salmon and enjoy. Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our appellation blends are nearly always among our most exciting and alluring wines. Utilizing fruit from Rochioli, Allen, Floodgate, Starr Ridge and Hallberg, we have crafted a wine that is wildly appealing from its intoxicating deep dark berry and lavender aromas through its exotic, rich flavors that mirror aromas but are enriched by accents of sandalwood, clove and black pepper. Wonderful integrated tannins compliment its structure which is mouth-filling and firm. The incredibly appealing finish is balanced, refreshing, succulent and long. A great cellaring candidate and arguably the finest Russian River Selection Pinot Noir produced to date by Alysian.
