Wine Review: This dark ruby opens with a fragrant and inviting boysenberry jam bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a mild blackberry with hints of black cherry, gentle oak and a touch of minerality. The finish is dry and its fine tannins are elegant and subtle. This Pinot will pair well with many foods. Pan-seared tuna came to mind. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Of all the properties we showcase, Hallberg may be the most unique and identifiable of the single-vineyard designate wines we produce. This wine is an accurate expression of soil and place; delivering great consistency from vintage to vintage with its lavish aromas of violet and black berry, and flavor profiles focused on black cherry and plum lightly seasoned by cedar and mint. Though incredibly generous in its depth and flavor, it is the structure (brilliant acidity and finely integrated tannins) that truly completes the package. Great length in the finish of this deliciously exotic offering.
