Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zin opens with a mild black cherry bouquet with a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and friendly. The flavor profile is a mild black cherry with a touch of black pepper and spice. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are a little sticky and linger nicely. I would pair this Zin with barbecue ribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 edition was the product of one of the smallest harvests in recent memory. While we had less fruit to work with, what we got was very concentrated. The result is a dark Zin with heady aromas of black cherry, eucalyptus, cocoa and mint and flavors of black cherry, plum, vanilla and black pepper. A bit of Syrah in the blend adds roundness and length to the wine. Sin Zin's ability to pair with so many different foods may be a reason it remains one of the most popular Zins ordered in America's restaurants. It is a perfect match for roasted poultry, Italian cuisine, grilled meats and chocolate desserts.
