Wine Review: This opaque and onyx colored wine opens with a mild blackberry, herbs and light new leather bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, has good balance and is savory. The flavor profile is a mineral infused plum with a hints blackberry and black licorice. The finish is very dry and its chalky tannins are very sticky and last for a very long time. This wine will appeal to fans of wines from the Rhone valley. I would pair it with Mr. P's beef brisket or a thick cut of prime rib. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep vine-ripened blackberry aromas meld with toasty oak, a rich spiciness and perfumey floral notes. The smooth entry reveals juicy blackberry, ripe cherry, spicy pepper, and creamy mocha. Hints of blueberry, tobacco, and a touch of cocoa enhance the finish as the flavors linger on. A solid structure offers slightly chewy tannins that will further integrate with aging. This robust Syrah pairs well with roasted meats, hearty tomato-based dishes, or a comforting stew or cassoulet.
