Wine Review: This ruby colored wine opens with a very interesting bouquet. I detected vanilla, pine pitch, beet, and rhubarb. Quite a combination. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and delicate. It displays tasty light strawberry rhubard pie flavors with a hint of light oak. The finish is quite dry and its tingly noticeable tannins linger for quite sometime. This wine is a very different style of Pinot. I think it would pair well with aged gruyere and stone wheat crackers. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: "The 2007 is our most concentrated Julia's Pinot Noir in more than a decade. The color is dark purple with little of the brick hues that we often see in Pinot. The nose is generous, ripe, earthy, spicy and exotic. The palate is round, sensual, and balanced by fine acidity and soft tannins." – Denise Shurtleff, Winemaker
