Wine Review: This very light yellow colored wine took top honors in a mini flight of Sauvignon Blancs that we recently reviewed. It opens with an inviting grapefruit like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, and slightly viscous. The flavor profile continues to be grapefruit with a hint of minerals and lime. The finish is dry, but yet mouthwatering. If guessing where this came from, most would be fooled most in a blind tasting. It is very New Zealand like in style. We felt it would pair well with lemon chicken. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Sauvignon Blanc is focused and intense. Starting with ruby grapefruit, nectarine, and a shaded aromatic minerality. The palate is bright with lime juice, honeydew melon, and pineapple. A refreshing acidity keeps all of the extraordinary flavors light on their feet, very juicy, and a finish that goes on forever.
