Wine Review: This bright ruby colored Pinot from Fog Dog was recently recommended from a blind flight that I recently reviewed. Beyond this wines great name, you will also appreciate its very attractive ripe black cherry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, palate coating, and luscious with very ripe blend of red raspberry and black cherry flavors. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger for quite sometime. This is a big Pinot with lots of flavor. It would be best on its own or serve with sharp cheddar cheese. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: 2006 was an excellent year for Freestone grapes. The complex nose offers harmonious aromas of black and red currants, sour cherries, black tea and nuances of Asian spices. The wine enters with lush, sweet and concentrated flavors of wild strawberry, plum and blackberry liqueur. The backbone of acid, minerality and supple tannins fill the mouth and carry through with a long, persistent finish and a surprisingly spicy snap.
