Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zin is the best Heritage clones Zin I can remember. It opens with a shy mild black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a very tasty black raspberry with nicely integrated oak. I also detected a dash of black pepper and nutmeg as well. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins provide a pleasant and lingering aftertaste. This appealing Zin would make for a perfect glass pour option and would pair well with slow cooked beef brisket. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2007 Heritage Zinfandel combines fruit from the warm Dry Creek Valley and cool Russian River Valley appellations. Aromas of blueberry and raspberry are framed by notes of white pepper and chocolate. On the palate, an abundance of fresh berry fruit mingles with dollops of creamy oak. The tannins are refined and smooth, giving this wine a long and satisfying finish.
