Wine Review: This wine was the clear winner in a blind flight of 6 high end Pinots that we recently reviewed. This ruby colored wine opens with a light black cherry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very nicely balanced, silky, and suave. The flavor profile is a delicious blend of light raspberry and syrupy red cherry. There were notes caramel and licorice detected as well. The finish is dry and its moderate controlled tannins sail on for quite some time. This elegant Pinot would pair perfectly with filet mignon or raspberry chicken. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This vintage gave lusciously rich Pinot Noir, with enough structure to keep it bright and refreshing, balanced in fruit and acid with light, fine tannins. There is effusive cherry, chocolate, perfume, and spices, such as pepper and vanilla, integrated on a pretty, creamily textured palate. It is very well balanced, with nice weight, length, and complexity. In this vintage, it could have been much bigger, but we thought it best to keep it as pretty as we could make it.
