Wine Review: Robert Stemmler has been a very consistent Pinot producer over that last few years. They have done well with our panels. This year’s “Carneros” Pinot is bright red and opens with a musty old oak and light black cherry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and shows finesse and grace. It displays tasty ripe black cherry flavors with hints of strawberry licorice and old oak blended in. The finish is dry and is a bit subtle. This wine would pair well with a lightly seasoned pork tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A bouquet filled with an array of wild raspberries, strawberry, rhubarb, cherry, baking spice, clove, and cinnamon. Lively yet rich tannins embrace flavors of fresh blackberries nuanced by sage and finishing with mineralality.
