Wine Review: This very dark purple colored Pinot finished in third place in our recent blind tasting. It opens with a spicy raspberry bouquet with a touch of tobacco and heat. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, evenly balanced, and shows nice structure. The flavor profile is a savory raspberry and plum blend. The finish is quite dry and its well managed tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel would pair this attractive wine with duck or a ribeye with a garlic butter sauce. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This Pinot Noir is a selection of the best wines produced during the 2006 harvest. We selected the groups with the best balance of tannin, flavor concentration, aroma, and acidity. The resulting blend offers hints of sandalwood, wild blackberry and balsamic reduction, dried tea leaves, and a melange of Indian spices. This wine is serious, yet restrained, and has a backbone of natural acidity, tannin, and minerality to provide the structure necessary for aging.
