Wine Review: This is the second year in a row that we have recommended the Chard from Solaire. This yellow colored wine opens with a fragrant tropical fruit like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, showed a round mouthfeel, and is nicely balanced between its tropical fruit flavors and pleasant acidity. This citrus style of Chardonnay will be quite a crowd pleaser. The finish is dry, tingly, and lingers for quite some time. This wine is food friendly and it paired very nicely with scallops wrapped in bacon or crabcakes. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Solaire by Robert Mondavi expresses aromas of fresh tropical fruits and citrus. Aging for eight months in a blend of new and one-year-old oak adds aromas and flavors of vanilla cream and brown spice. The mouthfeel is rich, round and plush.
