Wine Review: Typically you do not describe New Zealand Pinot Noir as smooth and elegant, but Spy Valley has seemed to capture that magic formula with its 2007 vintage. The end result is a ruby colored wine that opens with a spicy raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, and silky with tasty raspberry flavors with notes of spice mixed in. The finish is dry and its mild tannins linger nicely. We felt this wine would pair very nicely with grilled salmon. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Medium red. Hints of perfume and flowers with rich plummy fruit. and a dark chocolatey background. Generous weight, complex and challenging. Fine, firm tannins and a supple, velvety finish.
