Wine Review: We had this wine with our Valentine’s Day Dinner and found to be Excellent. This light yellow colored Chard opens with a heavenly light oak and light lemon like bouquet with a hint of vanilla. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very well balanced, creamy, and delicious with light oak and lemon-butter like flavors. We also detected notes of vanilla as well. We could not stop drinking this wine. The finish is dry, very enjoyable, and lingers nicely. This wine paired perfectly with my pan fried Cod cover in a white clam and butter sauce. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2006 Truchard Chardonnay is very consistent with past vintages. Tropical fruit notes of pineapple and kiwi are mixed with hints of mineral and citrus. The wine was fermented and aged in French oak barrels adding layers of vanilla and spice. This wine has a full, creamy palate, which is not a result of malolactic fermentation, but a characteristic that is inherent in the ripe fruit itself, and continues on to a long, flavorful finish.
