Wine Review: This wine finished in 2nd place in our recent Blind tasting of Syrah’s. However, it took top honors for best value. The very dark opaque purple colored wine opens with a light raspberry like bouquet with some subtle oak scents. On the palate, this Syrah is medium bodied, ultra smooth, and very well balanced with delicious blueberry flavors. There is also some menthol and boysenberry mixed in. The finish is dry and its well managed tannins linger nicely. The panel would enjoy this wine with just about anything, but a rib eye and Wiener Schnitzel were mentioned. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Dense purple color. Aromas of toasty, smoky oak, forest floor and baking spice. Rich, lush, and mouthfilling on the palate. Deep fruit flavors of blackberry jam, blueberry, black cherry, ground black pepper and hints of sweet/spicy oak. L3—lush, long, and loveable. Pairs well with grilled or smoked meats such as beef, pork, and lamb, and dishes prepared with mild cheeses or wild mushrooms.
