Wine Review: This wine was the winner of this year’s Shiraz and Syrah blind tasting. The panel really liked this wine and scored it 91.43 points. It is a very dark opaque purple color and opens with a pleasant blackberry bouquet with a hint of eucalyptus. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth, well balanced, with delicious blueberry flavors and a touch of pepper and spice. The finish is dry and its well managed soft tannins are nicely extended. The panel thought this wine would pair quite nicely with a ribeye or a rosemary lamb roast. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2005 Shiraz has a vibrant deep red color, tinged with purple. The nose displays a lively assortment of mulberries, boysenberries and plums, with layers of dark chocolate, toasty oak and typical Padthaway menthol. These flavours on the palate are fleshy and mouth-filling, with conserve-like ripe berry fruit. A minerally tone on the mid-palate is complimented by soft, velvety tannins. This wine is robust and has great depth, yet elegant and completely balanced. It is well-structured, all the way to the luscious, creamy finish.
