Wine Review: If you have never had Aglianico before, you would be spoiling yourself to start with this gem. Our panel found this wine to be one of the best wines that we tried in a recent blind tasting of high end reds. This very dark ruby colored wine opens with a spicy anise, chocolate, and raisin like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is smooth, has a dry mouthfeel, and is well balanced. It displays rich and complex flavors ranging from licorice, black current, molasses, and toasted oak. The finish is quite dry and its noticeable tannins linger for and extended time frame. The panel felt this wine would pair quite well with prime rib. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Colour: Ruby red Bouquet: Full, complex, intense bouquet redolent of violet and berries Palate: In the mouth it is enveloping, elegant and persistent. The background has distinct notes of plum, bitter cherry, strawberry jam, black pepper.
